Angela....our babysitter!

So when I was trying to figure out what to blog about today I realized I was limited to what I could do because my batteries ran out in my camera so I couldn't take any new pictures today and then I remembered I haven't blogged about our babysitter Angela yet! So without further ado here is a blog about our wonderful sitter.....

This is Angela and one of her daughters Sara.

When we first arrived here and we had a few weeks to find a sitter for all four kids it was kinda overwhelming. I have never had a regular sitter before, we had someone we used sometimes at home, but not someone I counted on to take care of and love my kids. So I was a bit unsure of what to expect.

We after several leads on babysitters didn't work out, we were given her name, so she came over to meet us and the kids. What I should tell you about her is that she doesn't speak English, well she does some, kinda like I do Romanian! So we had to have a translator to interview her,a and we weren't even sure what to ask her. In the end we thought, what the heck...lets try it out! I should also tell you she is a nurse and with the luck of my children I thought wow what a bonus!

She has turned out to be the biggest blessing we have had here. She loves our children and when it was still warm outside she would take all four of my kids plus her two kids on a bus by herself and go to the park. I won't even do that!

She helps me with language and

she is teaching the kids Romanian. She will speak to Benjamin in Romanian and he will do what she says! I don't know what she is saying, but he does! She is so helpful with everything. She
knew I wanted to learn how to make some

Romanian food, so she came over with our language teacher to help teach me cook and watch the kids.

Our family is so blessed to have her. She has invited us to her church this Sunday and she knows I have a hard time with the little boys during church, so she has asked her oldest daughter to help watch our children so I could sit with her at church.

There are some different babysitting techniques that she has tried out on our children, like when she tied Timothy to the chair to get him to sit still ( I totally understand that!)....

and she did come back the day after Timothy threw his potty at her with potty inside it! And that happened more then once! She has a good heart....and lots of patients! I think if someone threw a potty at me I probably wouldn't come back....even if it was my child....sorry Ray, but I would be out!

Crazy things Wednesday!

I am going to blog today about crazy things we have seen today!! It is pretty easy to do, I could probably stay home and watch my kids and Ray all day and have enough things to blog about! But we did leave the house and here is what we saw....



Ummm this is power lines! And then there seems to be one or two just hanging down to the ground! You can see this crazyness all over town! I'm sure it is more organized then it looks....right?
And then there was this....



This picture didn't turn out because I had the flash on, but if you look really close it says Pastrama Crap! I took this picture at the grocery store and I took it really fast because I didn't want someone yelling at me in Romanian...which is why I left the flash on...when you are being sneaky it is hard to stop and turn the flash off!
And then there was this....



This was not a good day for pictures for me, but this is a horse and wagon going right along with the traffic in down town Bucharest! I take pictures of these every time I see them, I am obsessed with them! I can get used to seeing this wagons in the small villages, but seeing them in a big city is still so surprising to me! And I love them!! I just wish it wasn't so hard to get a picture of them, every time Ray and I try it just never turns out...those horses move pretty fast! And last on my list of crazyness is this....



this is all the laundry I washed and folded today! Just to put this picture into perspective, this is a king sized bed and it is covered in laundry! But at least it is all done!

We have had so much sickness in our house it is about to drive me crazy. Parker was sick, I was sick while my mom was visiting and then my mom got sick. Benjamin and Timothy have had a cold the last few days and now I have it. The winner for being sickest this month has to go to Ray, he has had something that starts with dia and ends with rrhea! I'm sure he isn't going to be happy that I said this on a public blog, but if it were me, he would have posted it on facebook I'm sure you all are all aware if the "i just pooped" status updates Ray used to put on my page

Okay I said all that about everyone being sick to say that I went to the pharmacy this morning to get cold medicine for me. I had it all worked out, how I was going to act out what I needed. There are two pharmacists that work there, one who speaks english and one who doesn't. I just knew I would get the one who didn't speak English. Well I was surprised and happy to find the English speaker. I told her what was wrong and she gave me 1 box of bills and then went on the tell me I needed something else too, something homeopathic! No amount of me telling her I didn't need anything else was going to change her mind. In fact she was so insistent on me leaving with something homeopathic that she keep showing me different ones to choice from. In the end I did leave with something that I have no idea what it is....here is my medicine....

The homeopathic ones are the ones on top. They didn't even come in a box. She just gave that to me, and told me to chew one up every hour. As you can see I am real concerned about what it is, I have already taken 5 of them. I just figured when in Rome...or Romania in my case...do as they do! The other medicine I found out later is a cold and flu one!

I also had a very troubling conversation today with Ray. It was something that I was so shocked by that if I could have taken a picture of my face during this talk it would have looked like this....



This is a reenactment picture of the shock and disbelief I was feeling that Lizzie took for me! Okay so back to the conversation with Ray. We were driving to a doctors appointment and we were talking about how different he and I write. I write how I talk and he writes and sounds very smart and all that jazz. Okay so he said something that has forever changed my life....we were talking about different t.v. shows that had bad writing, where things just didn't sound right and then he said..."Like when I used to watch Dawson's Creek or The Gilmore Girls" What....you watched Dawsons creek and Gilmore Girls...I really thought I knew Ray, know I am wondering what else I don't know....like what soap operas does he like and which commercial make him cry.

I will leave it alone, but it is just a surprise is all. So I said we were driving to a doctors appointment during all of this. We had to take Lizzie to have a electrocardiograph (that is a big word...it was like an ultrasound!) to see what was up with the heart murmur we just found out that she has. It turns out that she is fine. It is something called a functioning murmur. That is the best we could understand from the doctor who is Romanian! It was a pretty good day! I wonder how tomorrow is going to turn out!
