Well I dyed...my hair black! This has been an on going conversation in my house, mostly Ray talking and me just shaking my head! Ray has been asking me to dye my hair black for a long time. I'm not sure why, he just wanted to see what it would look like. He just knew it would look good. But I was very against it, because it could go either way. It could have looked really good, or really bad. I have never dyed my hair a dark color, I have only gone lighter, or like a red color.
So like I said this was not my first time. When I was younger I had a thing for this guy who had a thing for a certain red headed girl! Well what do you think I did,I dyed my hair red! I think I won him over in the the end because when we were married in 2002 I didn't have red hair!
Okay so back to black ( isn't that an ac/dc song?), Ray was going to be gone all day and I had nothing better to do, so I made my sister go to Walmart with me to buy the dye. She wanted me to get a little lighter black color, but I don't do anything half way! ( contrary to what my hubby would say!) If I was going to have black hair, it was going to be BLACK. I opened to box and mixed the dye, there was no going back for me.
I just went for it, and put the dye in my hair, 30 minutes later when I went to the bathroom to wash it out I had a moment of panic, had I done the right thing? After what seemed like forever, I washed all the dye out and was ready to dry my hair. I was shocked by what I saw in the mirror when I was all done.
I was very unsure about it, I thought I looked mean! And I didn't look like my sister anymore, which is kinda strange for me. In fact the night before I was at the fair with Ray, and someone came up to me and asked if I had a twin sister named Beth, I wonder if that will happen now?! So after I put in some blush, (which I had to call my sister for in a panic!) I thought I looked okay. But the test for me would be what would Ray say?
Okay I know there are people who will say, who cares what he thinks its your hair, he doesn't have to like it. But I think he does have to like it! He looks at me all the time, I kinda want him to like what he sees! And he loved it. This may be time when he was right. So I think the black hair will stay, for now at least. Maybe next month I will be a blond, but who knows! The one thing I do know is that I will never be a red head, I already got the guy!
